APGA Elections Primary: Idemili North Non-Indigenes Support Hon. Uzoegwu’s Aspiration

As the 2027 general elections draw near, non-indigenous residents within Idemili North local government area in Anambra State have united in endorsing Hon. Afam Uzoegwu for the APGA party’s primaries for Idemili North State Constituency seat in the State Assembly.

In a recent interview after a meeting of non-indigenes held at a hotel in Ogidi last weekend, Nze Nweke Nweke stated that members from diverse tribes, states, and religions within the area have come together to support Hon. Uzoegwu’s aspiration.

Nweke remarked, “Various non-indigenous town unions, market leaders, and other groups in Idemili North have come together with a consensus to support former councillor, Hon. Afam Uzoegwu for the House of Assembly seat representing Idemili North State Constituency.

“Through numerous meetings and discussions, we assessed the backgrounds and qualifications of aspirants from different political parties. In the end, we chose the APGA aspiratnt, Hon. Afam Uzoegwu.

“Hon. Uzoegwu’s connection with the non-indigenous community is unmatched. He is a distinguished individual, a seasoned politician, and a respected leader with a commendable track record.

“While he is not the only APGA aspiratnt in the area, we selected him because our connection to him and his abilities make him the strongest candidate likely to defeat opponents from other parties in the upcoming elections.

“Moreover, Uzoegwu is well-regarded by the state government for his efforts in enhancing revenue generation in Idemili North, especially in Nkpor.”

Nweke highlighted that, for the first time, non-indigenous residents in Idemili North are rallying behind an aspirant for the state assembly in Hon. Afam Uzoegwu due to his impressive background. He also pointed out that local political stakeholders are firmly backing Hon. Uzoegwu, positioning him as the most widely accepted aspiratnt 

He concluded by asserting that as the 2027 elections approach, aspirants from rival parties may take a step back while Hon. Afam Uzoegwu progresses towards victory.
