The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi State is full of excitement and celebration after the successful screening of aspiratnts in preparation for the party’s upcoming primaries, scheduled for the 28th of this month. The screening covers gubernatorial, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly positions.
According to our Ebonyi State Correspondent, the screening was held at the Fountain Hilton Hotel in Abakaliki, starting at 10 AM with attendance from both APGA national, Zonal and state executives. The aspirants maintained a disciplined environment, which contributed to the event’s overall success.
Supporters of the aspirants that were in attendance, praised the screening, calling it a remarkable example of democracy. Many remarked that they had never witnessed such a peaceful, transparent, and well-organized process as that conducted by APGA in Ebonyi State a few days ago. They expressed optimism that the party is paving the way for a transformative era in the nation’s political scene based on their experience during the screening.
Following the event, Hon. Chukwudi Nwankwo, the APGA Chairman in Ebonyi State, commended the screening committee, led by Rev. Augustine Ihemere, as well as the aspirants for their commendable peaceful conduct. He urged the electoral commission to draw inspiration from APGA’s efforts in preparation for the upcoming general elections.
Hon. Nwankwo acknowledged party members for their dedication and teamwork during the aspiratnts screening and expressed gratitude to the Screening Committee for their diligence and fairness throughout the process.
WISEMEN Correspondent observed that APGA’s aspirants for gubernatorial, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly positions were thoroughly evaluated and cleared, dispelling claims from rival political parties that APGA would not present candidates in the next elections.
Chief Barrister Tochukwu Ogalagu, an aspirant for the House of Representatives for the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, expressed gratitude on behalf of all others screened. He thanked APGA’s leadership for their confidence in screening them for the primaries and assured the people of Ebonyi State that APGA is establishing political standards aimed at facilitating transparent and credible elections in the future.
