The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has expelled 30 dissident members who took the party to court. This decision was made during a State Executive Council meeting on May 11, 2026, at the Party Secretariat in Awka, led by Deputy State Chairman, Chief J.C. Okeze.

Chief Okeze emphasized that the party’s constitution requires members with grievances to pursue internal resolution methods before seeking legal action. Since these members bypassed those procedures, they violated the Party’s Rules and Regulations.

In a press briefing regarding the disciplinary action, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Dr. Sir Valentine Oliobi, criticized the rebels for their arrogance in resorting to the courts without attempting internal conflict resolution first.

Dr. Oliobi also revealed the members of the Disciplinary Committee, which includes Senator Mrs. Magerie Chuba-Okadigbo (Chair), Dr. (Mrs) Chioma Ejekeme, Dame Jessie Balonwu, Dr. Amobi Nwokafor, Ichie Ejezie, C.N. Madubueze, and Chris Chikwelu (Secretary).

Furthermore, Dr. Oliobi announced that the Party will hold its Primary Election to select candidates for the 2026/2027 General Election, utilizing either “Option A 4” or “Consensus Opinion.” He urged members to comply with the Electoral Act and the Party’s Rules and Regulations.
