The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi State is intensifying its internal deliberations and strategic initiatives aimed at promoting party unity, equitable leadership distribution, and improving grassroots mobilization in anticipation of forthcoming political elections.

During a significant gathering of stakeholders on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, party leaders, ward coordinators, local officials, women’s and youth representatives, along with members from across the state came together to address issues affecting the party’s growth and future direction.

The meeting began with an opening prayer led by Hon. Chief Mrs. Nkwuda Beatrice Adaeze, who sought divine guidance for the party’s leadership and members, urging everyone to align with APGA’s vision for the collective good of Ebonyi State.

This information was shared in a press statement by the party’s Assistant Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ajah Christopher Michael, which highlighted that Hon. Chukwudi Nwankwo, the APGA Ebonyi State Chairman, symbolically presented a kola nut to advocate for increased unity among members and a renewed commitment to justice, fairness, and governance that prioritizes the people.

While speaking to attendees, Hon. Nwankwo reiterated that APGA is built on principles of equity, inclusiveness, and grassroots involvement, emphasizing that the party’s power stems from member solidarity and the establishment of trust within the community.

A central focus of the meeting was the discussion on zoning of elective positions, which sparked extensive conversations among stakeholders. Topics included the governorship position, designated for Ebonyi North, along with Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly roles, with a pledge to ensure fair treatment for all candidates through trustworthy primaries.

Party members underscored the importance of equitable zoning to ensure balanced representation across various zones and communities in Ebonyi State. Many speakers asserted that fair political appointments would enhance internal democracy and reduce political friction.

Stakeholders stressed that zoning should emphasize inclusivity rather than individual ambitions, insisting that no region should feel politically marginalized. They argued that fair distribution of leadership roles would foster public trust and improve APGA’s chances in future elections.

Another key topic was mobilizing members across wards and local government areas. Leaders recognized that electoral success heavily depends on effective grassroots engagement and community involvement.

The meeting concluded with a consensus to ramp up recruitment for new members, reconnect with inactive supporters, and strengthen party structures statewide, encouraging youth and women leaders to take a more active role in political awareness and voter mobilization efforts.

Stakeholders also called for increased discipline, loyalty, and internal communication within the party, urging members to eschew divisive behavior in favor of respectful dialogue and collective accountability.

Observers noted that the meeting highlighted APGA’s commitment to consolidating its status as a strong political force in Ebonyi State, focusing on delivering credible leadership and effective representation.

As the gathering came to a close, members united in reaffirming their loyalty to the party and committed to supporting the resolutions made. They expressed confidence that unity, strategic planning, and ongoing grassroots mobilization would enable APGA to expand its influence and remain a significant player in Ebonyi politics.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with party members expressing renewed determination to work collaboratively toward APGA’s success and the overall development of Ebonyi State.
