His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo has appointed his key Special Assistanants (SAs) to his cabinet as he embarks on his second term beginning March 23, 2026.

Among the new appointments are Barr. (Mrs) Ngozi Iwouno as Head of Service, Barr. Joachin Peters Anetoh as Principal Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Ben Nwankwo as Chief of Staff, Prof. Frank-Collins Okafor as State Chief of Protocol, Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN as Attorney General, Comrade Aburime as Chief Press Secretary, and Dr. Vincent Egbuna Okechi as Deputy Chief of Staff.

Additional roles include Ms. Ngozi Lucy Okoye as Deputy State Chief of Protocol, Dr. Godwin Nnadizie as Special Adviser on Medical and Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Chinwe Okoli as Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation and CEO of Solution Innovation District, Prof. (Engr) Ebuka Nwankwo as Special Adviser on Special Projects and Director of Project Evaluation and Monitoring, and Mr. Ken Emeakayi as Special Adviser on Community Security.

These roles are established to support various functions within the State Government.

However, it remains crucial to recognize that the public’s primary concern is the safety of their lives and property, especially with Chief Ken Emeakayi recently appointed as Special Adviser on Community Security. He recognizes that enforcing state laws requires more than just enforcement; it involves building trust, ensuring fairness, and respecting each individual’s dignity.

The WISEMEN News team believes that effective grassroots security goes beyond uniforms and weapons, emphasizing accountability, professionalism, community involvement, and respect for human rights. These principles place the Agunechemba, as envisioned by the Anambra State Government, as a potential role model for the future.

At the heart of effective grassroots security, Agunechemba should prioritize community protection. It must view itself as a partner in security rather than a controlling authority over citizens, working alongside the Nigeria Police Force and other federal government security architecture.

For Agunechemba to be truly community-focused, its members must be trained to engage with locals, understand their concerns, and resolve issues proactively. This approach fosters cooperation, empowering community members to participate actively in efforts to maintain peace and security.

An essential feature of a credible grassroots security force is total accountability and transparency. The success of Agunechemba relies on its commitment to the law and to the community it serves.

The future Agunechemba will institute rigorous internal oversight, independent review boards, and clear disciplinary measures. Personnel will adhere to the highest ethical standards to prevent abuse of power and ensure fair justice.

Professionalism and ongoing training will also set Agunechemba apart. In a rapidly changing environment, grassroots security must address emerging threats like cybercrime, organized crime, and technological challenges while complying with Anambra State Homeland Laws.

Agunechemba is expected to utilize modern security practices, advanced forensic techniques, and continuous training programs. Its personnel are also expected to be prepared not only for physical threats but also to tackle complex security problems with skill and integrity.

Respect for human rights is equally vital. True security agents protect freedoms while maintaining order.

The Agunechemba, known to be grounded in legal frameworks that uphold individual rights and dignity, they are to ensure that all enforcement actions are lawful, appropriate, and humane. This method fosters legitimacy and strengthens the relationship between law enforcement and the community.

A key strength of the future Agunechemba will be its focus on community-oriented security practices. Security is most effective when it reflects the unique traits of local areas. By hiring locally and promoting community participation, the Agunechemba will better understand cultural dynamics, enhance crime reduction through information sharing, and create safer neighborhoods through cooperation rather than fear.

Finally, the Agunechemba ought to stand out through its commitment to innovation and efficiency. Implementing digital reporting systems, surveillance technologies, and data-informed grassroots security strategies will enhance its operational capabilities and deter crime. This forward-thinking approach ensures Agunechemba remains proactive against potential threats.

In conclusion, true grassroots security is characterized by trust, justice, accountability, and service. The Agunechemba, founded on these principles, has the potential to become a groundbreaking model for modern law enforcement.

By addressing community needs, upholding the rule of law, and embracing innovative methods, Agunechemba aims to secure the environment while fostering confidence, unity, and progress within the society it serves.
