Eminent Ambassador Yommy Eshinlokun Ogungbe, the founder of the Imole Eko Foundation, is a dedicated member of the PDP who played a pivotal role in reconciling the party during a time of potential collapse. He voluntarily withdrew his candidacy for the senatorial seat in favour of Otunba Segun Adewale, widely known as Aeroland, following the directive of Chief Olabode George.
He has been the sole sponsor and financier of the Imole Eko Foundation, committed to improving the lives of the average Nigerian. Adire Tie & Dye: Oluwaseyifunmi
Oluwaseyifunmi, a student of Tie & Dye, enrolled in the four-month program to gain exceptional knowledge from the Imole Eko Foundation facility situated at Ikotun Egbe. The outspoken lady air her views during a conversation with Oluwadamilare Daniels. Excerpts;
What have you learned here so far; is this facility conducive for learning?
Indeed, this environment is conducive to learning. What initially appeared challenging has transformed into a meaningful task through focus and a steady mindset.
In earlier editions of the Imole Eko Foundation’s vocational empowerment program, graduates were provided with startup funds. How do you perceive this initiative, and what plans do you have in place to effectively utilize these funds to your benefit?
The founder of this foundation is a man of integrity; whatever commitments he makes, he fulfills with God as his guide.
Now that you have acquired the skills of tie and dye fabrics with no cost, if you receive empowerment, will you also seek to share your knowledge with others; or you will prefer to continue working independently?
The knowledge I have received was priceless, and I am eager to share it with others. Setting up, I would be eager to engage a few individuals to collaborate with me.
Did you create this dress; what name would you give it?
This is a V-shaped Polo T-shirt, which I designed myself.
What additional insights can you share about your learning experience here thus far?
Currently, you will observe individuals wearing Adire tie and dye in various fabrics such as denim, Ankara, and Guinea materials, I am so glad that, I can start to finish the process.
Catering Dept.: Anuoluwapo Gbenuola,
Anuoluwapo Gbenuola, a beautifully built lady from Badagry, is the head of the Catering department for the Imole Eko Foundation for the 2025 session. She possesses an impressive 13 years of professional experience. After completing her vocational education, she collaborated with her boss, who subsequently became her employer; a resident of Akesan, to successfully manage catering services and event planning for both medium and large-scale organizations in the past.
She has proficiently overseen numerous events, ensuring the satisfaction of the event owners, which has, in turn, bolstered her confidence in catering for large gatherings. The leader of Imole Eko specifically sought her expertise while searching for a qualified instructor to oversee the catering department of the foundation.
She answered a few questions from CREEKVIBES OLUWADAMILARE DANIELS, excerpts;
What can you say about your trainable students?
We began with snacks, progressed to baking, and we have also been preparing various types of dishes, ranging from native soups to intercontinental dishes; we have even made Prawn in Mayo roll before your arrival.
What does the next stage of training entail?
I will teach them on cooking food, baking cakes and bread, and then we will advance to different kinds of cakes and other pastries.
What variety of soups can your students comfortably cook now?
Efo-riro, Efo-elegusi, stew, Ogbono Soup, Pepper soup, and a couple of other soups.
Have you also disclosed to them, secrets that enable you to transform a spicy soup into a more palatable version, thereby reducing the intensity of the pepper within it?
We have not reached that point yet.
Does this imply that in the upcoming weeks, you will be sharing the methods?
Certainly.
What can you tell us about the Imole Eko Foundation?

What have you learned since you began your vocational training at the Imole Eko Foundation?
I have gained extensive knowledge regarding cooking. I have come to understand that achieving the right flavour is essential in cooking, and I have also learned how to properly arrange a dinner setting, ensuring that everything fits appropriately on the table.
Prior to your joining the Imole Eko Foundation, what was your cooking ability like?
While I had some familiarity with basic baking and preparing light soups, since my arrival, I have learned how to plate burgers, season them, and add spices effectively.
Now that you can prepare burgers effortlessly, have you also been taught on how to prepare Pepperoni Pizza?
Yes, that was quite interesting, and I am delighted that I can also handle that as well.
What is your opinion of the Imole Eko Foundation?
This foundation has created a tremendous opportunity for the youth, and we are immensely grateful. It is no small feat for one individual to conceive and finance an initiative of this magnitude on an annual basis.
Can you share how you plan to utilize your startup money?
For me, I have always aspired to own a shop, and this presents a wonderful opportunity for me to receive startup capital from an unexpected source that will enable me to become a shop owner.
What can you say to the women on the street who are unaware that something of this significance is happening here?
I believe many of them are not informed about the events taking place here.
Catering Dept Hon. Keyinde Abuzugbe
I hail from Delta State.
Since you commenced this vocational training, what have you learned?
I have acquired a great deal of knowledge, including how to prepare special Fried Rice, special Jollof Rice, and Coconut Rice. Additionally, I have learned to create several intercontinental dishes.
I understand that upon completing your training, you will be provided with startup capital. How do you plan to utilize this money?
Once I receive that capital, I will establish my own shop, and thereafter, I may pursue further skills to enhance my business.
Will this shop be established in Delta State, your hometown?
No, I will initiate it here in Lagos.
What are your thoughts on the activities going on within this foundation?
My boss, the one and only, is doing great work here. If we had five individuals like him, many people’s stories would have transformed for the better. May God continue to bless him.
In this faculty, we have over 30 members, and there are other faculties as well. Considering the current price of a gas cooker, Ambassador Eshinlokun will provide each of us with one. Please, baba, this is no joke at all.
Catering Dept : Agbaje Jumoke
Hailing from Ekiti State, she has been attending the ongoing Imole Eko vocational training for three months. According to this middle-aged woman, she has acquired skills in various pastries, such as sausage rolls, egg rolls, meat pies, donuts, and Chin-chin, as well as the preparation of different types of rice, including Coconut Rice, Fried Rice, and White Rice. Thanks to the Imole Eko Foundation, she is now a proud chef capable of cooking a variety of soups, such as Efo-Riro and Shoko. Furthermore, she stated, “I, for one, have put into practice what I have been taught here. I can identify a few classmates who are also doing the same. I have learned how to combine waterleaf and Ugwu to create a delicious meal, as well as how to prepare stew. We are progressing towards making different types of cakes.”
Creekvibes inquired about her plans following her financial empowerment. She responded, “My intention is to establish my own pastry store. I aspire to emulate my instructor, Anuoluwapo Gbenuola. We have seen numerous videos on social media platforms, and I will also leverage on social media to gain visibility.”
Lastly, Creekvibes asked her for her thoughts on the Imole Eko Foundation’s catering department. She replied, “To those watching us from home, I advise you not to underestimate anyone. I do not know Ambassador Yommy Eshinlokun Ogungbe personally, but he chose to extend a favour to me. When you see him on the street, you might think he is just an ordinary gentleman, but you would not realize that he is immensely blessed with a heart of gold, dedicated to uplifting people from grass to grace. There are many lessons I have learned here; beyond commercial purposes, I can also apply these skills for my husband and family members.
Tailoring Department: Eniola Edu
Softspoken and pensive Mrs. Eniola Edu, hailing from Epe in Lagos State, is the head tutor in the Tailoring Department of the ongoing Imole Eko Foundation Vocational Training Centre. The good looking lady recently answered few questions posed by Creekvibes’ OLUWADAMILARE DANIELS.
Can you share how your students are faring in terms of acquiring knowledge from you?
My students at are truly coping well and are steadily improving each day. Madam Owotoki crafted her dress independently today, it is the practice we uphold here, a dress per day.
What are your thoughts on the women outside who are aware that such accomplishments are possible but perceive it as a frightening task?
My advice to them is to pursue whatever they desire in life without fear. They should not think, ‘I cannot do it.’ Such thoughts are unfounded. Some ladies who joined us with no prior knowledge are now excelling.
Whatever you aspire to do, whether catering, makeup, or sewing, embark on it wholeheartedly.
When I initially considered starting my vocational training as a fashion design, I was hesitant because I had a little baby at that time. I questioned whether I could manage, but I resolved to proceed, and here I am today. Some may advise against pursuing vocational training due to having an infant, but there is no such thing as ‘It’s not possible.’ Strive to become what you wish to be; that is my counsel for them.
How long have you been engaged in the fashion design business?
This marks my 15th year.
The knowledge you have accumulated over these 15 years is being imparted to your students within a span of 3 to 4 months, how do you feel about it.
It makes me happy seeing how eager they are Learning.

Amiable Gift Dickson, an indigene of Delta State, specifically from Kwale, is also a beneficiary of the 2025 Imole Eko Foundation free vocational training. She engaged in a thoughtful conversation with Creekvibes during our visit. Enjoy the excerpts.
Before your arrival here, did you possess any knowledge of sewing fabrics together?
No, not at all.
What skills have you acquired thus far?
I have learned how to create trousers, A-line skirts, piece skirts, play gowns, and several other female attire.
What will you be focusing on learning in the next month?
In the fashion industry, we learn continuously.
In other words, upon leaving this place, you will continue learning?
Yes. after completing your four months of training, you will receive startup capital. What are your intentions for this upcoming financial support?
I intend to establish my own fashion academy, I will also tutor others, and undoubtedly, I will earn a living through my creations.
Will you want to return to Delta State to set up your fashion academy, or will you stay in Lagos?
No, I will establish it here in Lagos and work with it.
What can you say about your tutor?
We have observed situations where fashion design establishments on the street mistreat apprentices due to various shortcomings.
Have you noticed any signs of this in your instructor?
She is very good and patient; we are grateful for our instructor.
Is there anyone among you who is particularly stubborn and untrainable?
No one (general laughter).
We understand your aspirations; considering your fellow students, what do you think they aspire to achieve in the future?
I cannot speak for them, but I believe that whatever they wish to become, they should focus on it and pursue it.

Before you came here, did you learn this vocation elsewhere?
Not at all; I started from the very beginning here, learning through the needling and threading.
What can you say about the Imole Eko Foundation?
I express my gratitude to the Imole Eko Foundation for providing me with the ample opportunity to acquire this knowledge, and I pray that God continues to bless him abundantly.
How do you plan to make use of the startup funds and the equipment that will be provided to you following this vocational training?
My intention is to create ready-made attire, introduce it to the market, and assess whether I can secure orders for it. Subsequently, I will return to produce it in larger quantities.
Cosmetology: Latifat Adepoju
Latifat Adepoju, an indigene of Iseyin in Oyo State but currently resides in Lagos. She answered few questions posed by Creekvibes. Enjoy excerpts:
Could you please share the recipe for producing an excellent shampoo?
Making shampoo is not overly complicated once you are familiar with your chemicals and have mastered the necessary volume measurements for a specific batch. The ingredients include rice, STPP, Soda ash, Caustic soda, Glyceollin, among others.
As you will eventually receive financial empowerment from this Foundation, what plans do you have to establish yourself as a certified cosmetologist and a shampoo manufacturer?
In the Cosmetology curricular, we’ll also manufacture Liquid soap, Izal, Toilet wash, Tiles wash, Hypo, Air freshener, and several other items. My aspirations following my graduation from this institution include acquiring a branded container for my products. Once I have registered my business, I will be positioned to distribute my products.
I have come to understand that Cosmetology products are essential for every household, as they are required for daily routines.
What is your opinion on the benevolence of this Foundation?
This foundation is substantial, and we pray to God Almighty to continue blessing its founder so that he may persist in aiding those in need.
What challenges does the Cosmetology department face?
My department is not particularly problematic, but some of the chemical names can be challenging to obtain and pronounce.

Could you please share you thought on the Imole Eko Foundation?
We express our gratitude for this foundation, especially for its founder. Anyone who unites people for their improvement and enrichment is truly remarkable, exemplifying the saying, “Afun ni, ni ounje ma wobe,” is the accurate phrase to describe him, for my Yoruba folks.
We have accomplished several tasks, which include the making of Izal disinfectant, insecticide, liquid soap, body wash, tile wash, Dettol, Air freshener and shampoo, which you encountered us producing upon your arrival.
It was like an insurmountable challenge; when we first came, due to our age, we believed we would not be able to learn as quickly as a younger individual might. However, to our surprise, we have mastered the recipes, aside from the amusing names of the chemicals. Our tutor even permits us to produce certain items, subsequently coming to evaluate our work and giving us positive feedback.
I have been making these items for my household and I no longer purchase them from stores, thanks to the training provided by Imole Eko Foundation. I extend my gratitude to my boss at the top, Ambassador Yommy Eshinlokun Ogungbe, for making this possible.
If I understood you correctly, you mentioned approximately 8 items, which include Izal disinfectant, liquid soap, insecticide, shampoo, body wash, tile wash, Dettol and Air freshener. I comprehend that you will receive financial empowerment for setup upon completing your training.
Which of these products do you believe that you are very good at and would choose to focus on its production for large-scale distribution?
Thank you, I have indicated that there is none I cannot produce. I have selected liquid soap, as I have made it several times with various fragrances and have even secured contracts for it on a couple of occasions, which have proven profitable. Additionally, I have chosen a bathing liquid soap; I have ceased purchasing bathing soaps from super stores and now I produce my own, which has resulted in a glowing complexion.
Some of my friends have also recognized the quality of my bathing soaps, so there is no doubt regarding my proficiency in that area. Lastly, Izal is effective for sanitizing dirty environments, so I have selected these three products from all that I have learned without incurring any costs.
What can be said to those Genzys out there who are unaware that there exists a place where they can acquire the skills to create basic products that will enhance their lives?
What they must understand is that they should not squander their time pursuing illusions; by wearing revealing clothing and engaging in unproductive conversations within the neighbourhood, they ought to take their seats and prepare for a worthwhile endeavour.
During my upbringing, I recognized that profitable vocational training yields substantial financial returns. My parents passed away when I was young, preventing me from pursuing certain vocational paths. However, thanks to the Imole Eko Foundation, I have gained the knowledge necessary to produce specific products. I have already selected a name for my business outfit, and once I receive my startup capital, I will promptly register it and commence production.
Hair making: Vivian Chigbo
Meet Mrs. Vivian Chigbo, a native of Anambra State. She serves as the instructor for the Hair-making vocational sector of the 2025 Imole Eko Foundation Empowerment programme. Excerpts:
How long have you been involved in the hair making and styling vocational?
I have been a hair maker since birth; I grew up watching my mother create beautiful hairstyles, so I naturally followed in her footsteps. My mother has been in this profession for over 25 years.
Wow! Teaching the younger generation must be fulfilling. How does this experience make you feel; are they challenging to instruct?
It has been a remarkable experience; I truly enjoy their struggles and their enthusiasm to learn. This journey has been quite fascinating for me.
Could you name some of the hairstyles you have successfully taught them to create?
Hair making has evolved significantly; there is now close ventilation. If you look around, you will notice some of them with mole heads, creating what we refer to as close ventilation wig making is currently one of the most sought-after skills in hairdressing at the moment.
I have taught them on wig making and how to achieve the close ventilation/hair lace closure pattern in hair making, I have also revealed to them some hidden tricks to make an hair look good and presentable.
Could you please explain ‘close ventilation’ in a simpler term?
When you purchase a weavon or wig, you will observe a particular effect at the frontal part, which gives the weavon a realistic appearance. This effect mimics natural hair and is a technique for ventilating frontal closure for braided wigs.
What are your thoughts on the Imole Eko Foundation for providing you with this opportunity to impart your knowledge?
This is a rare opportunity for everyone involved to learn, even as a tutor. There was a day when I stepped out to run an errand, and a man approached me. He inquired about the cost of training here, and I informed him that it does not cost a dime. I also explained the equipment that successful students would receive after their training, which left him quite surprised.
All I can express is that God will continue to bless Ambassador Yommy Eshinlokun Ogungbe, the founder of this foundation. When I was approached to serve as a tutor here and learned that the students would be attending free of charge, I was somewhat taken aback. However, as a tutor, I am compensated quite well, while the students are gaining ample knowledge at no cost. I can assure you that all the tutors at this foundation are highly qualified for their positions.
All the graduates of Imole Eko Foundation are destined to excel and thrive anywhere across the nation, even beyond.
In summary, what you are saying is that the students of Imole Eko Foundation are intended to become leaders in their respective fields, whether on a large or small scale, after they graduate?
Indeed, these set are among the finest students I have ever tutored. This young man here is diligently crafting a wig; he actually discovered this online, took a screenshot, and sent it to me inquiring about the cost to achieve it. I informed him, and he proceeded to purchase the necessary materials to create it. Here he is, engaged in the process. I commend his determination to avoid illicit activities to overwhelmed him and instead pursue a legitimate means of earning income to improve his financial status and well being.
Iniobong Bright
Creekvibes is greatly impressed to witness a male participating in a vocational traditionally dominated by females, confidently pursuing his craft. Mr. Bright, a native of Akwa Ibom, was asked why he chose this vocation, which society often perceives as a women dominated vocational.
He responded, “I viewed the hair-making business as a way to make ends meet, and I decided to pursue it. Since I began this journey, I have never regretted my decision.”
Furthermore, Creekvibes inquired about his intentions for the startup funds that will be provided to him upon his graduation.
He said, “I am thrilled to learn that I will receive startup capital, and I also aspire to make a positive impact in the lives of others once I secure my space.”
Finally, we asked him whether he intends for his products to be successfully exported from the country. He replied that he has been fortunate to have an excellent instructor, who is a remarkable individual, imparting knowledge to her students. He also expressed gratitude to the Imole Eko Foundation for granting him the privilege of being part of the 2025 cohort of the empowerment program. Undoubtedly, my products will reach international markets.
Hair making: Ayinde Oyindamola
Ayinde Oyindamola, a Lagos State indigene, stated that she possesses the ability to create the Ghana-weaving hairstyle along with several other hair patterns, including close ventilation. She credits her skills to her instructor, Mrs. Chigbo, and the Imole Eko Foundation for providing her with the opportunity to follow her passion in this vocational field.
Make up Dept: Opeyemi Ashafa
Head and tutor of the Makeover department at Imole Eko Foundation 2025 session, Opeyemi Ashafa, discussed the foundation’s strengths and the progress of her students. Excerpt:
How are your students progressing with the training?
Most of them were not familiar with this vocation when they arrived, but I am pleased to report that they can now draw eyebrows and apply acrylic nail extensions.
From what you are indicating, you are training young women who will excel in their respective fields and also become employers in the near future.
Yes, precisely.
What can you say about Imole Eko Foundation in relation to the free training it is providing?
Wow, he is doing an exceptional job; the youth are very appreciative and pray that the source of his joy and prosperity never experiences lack or want.
Make up Dept: Rukayat Abideen
Rukayat Abideen, who is part of the makeup and facial department, hails from Kogi State. Her plans include establishing her own studio alongside a few stylists once she receives her makeup kit and startup funds. She prays for the owner of Imole Eko Foundation and wishes him success in all his endeavours.
According to Rukayat, none of her family members currently utilize the services of a makeup artist, as she now takes care of their nail fixing and painting, eyelash extensions, various makeup applications, and the wearing of headgear. Furthermore, she mentioned that she practices everything she learns from the foundation with her family members, which has allowed her to master the craft in less than three months of participating in the free vocational training provided by Ambassador Yommy Eshinlokun Ogungbe.
Make up Dept: Olajuwon Ogungbe
Olajuwon Ogungbe, a native of Badagry, has gained significant vocational knowledge from the Imole Eko Foundation. Before her arrival at the facility, she viewed makeup as a cumbersome task that was difficult to engage in. However, the Imole Eko Foundation has simplified the process and made her learning experience in this vocation enjoyable.
She is capable of expertly managing make-up and Gele (headgear), various shades of facials, lash extensions, and acrylic nails with gel application.
Creekvibes inquired about her upcoming months and what she will be learning, as she has demonstrated that she has acquired all the knowledge available within the department. Her modest reply was one of surprise, stating, “I possess some of the tools at home, and I am still in the process of learning to enhance my proficiency in this vocation.” She also mentioned that she intends to involve her clients in the makeup process, and once she receives her startup funds and makeup kit, she plans to establish her brand and begin earning swiftly.
