Anambra Government Condemns Attack on Chief of Staff’s Convoy

The government of Anambra State has voiced its dismay over the assault on the convoy of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s Chief of Staff on May 31st, deeming it an attack on the people of Anambra and a threat to the state’s peace, security, and democratic principles.

This unfortunate incident took place on the evening of May 31st, 2026, between 8:00 and 9:00 pm at the border of Orumba North and Awka South, while the Chief of Staff was returning from an official engagement, resulting in the tragic deaths of four individuals who merit justice.

In a press release, the State Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, Law Mefor, expressed heartfelt sympathy to the grieving families and shared in their sorrow.

Mefor emphasized that law enforcement and security agencies are diligently working to identify and capture those responsible for this atrocious act.

“This isolated event, occurring after more than a year of peace and stability in the state, will not diminish our resolve to eliminate all forms of crime from Anambra,” stated the State Information Commissioner.
