The Uzoegwu family from Idemili North Local Government Area in Anambra State has dismissed Mr. Ebuka Uzoegwu’s assertion of holding the Chairmanship position as merely a joke and an unfulfilled claim. They urge the public not to take him seriously or engage with him regarding the position he purportedly claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a press release, the well-known Uzoegwu family\u2014recognized within the Nkpor Community and beyond\u2014firmly stated that Ebuka Uzoegwu is the Taskforce Chairman and does not possess any authority related to the Chairmanship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family publicly distanced themselves from Ebuka’s claims through a sponsored advertisement in Vanguard Newspaper on April 9, 2026, specifying that its members, including Chief James Uzoegwu (Paul sub-family), Chief Andrew Uzoegwu (Okoye sub-family), Rt. Hon. Alphonsus Uzoegwu (Moses sub-family), and Onyeka Uzoegwu (Richard sub-family), reject his assertions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Uzoegwu family has been alerted to a publication in the Vanguard Newspaper on April 9, 2026, which introduces Mr. Ebuka Uzoegwu as the chairman of our family. We assert the following: (1) Chief Joseph Uzoegwu (Onwa) is the legitimate chairman of the Uzoegwu family, (2) Mr. Ebuka Uzoegwu is the Taskforce chairman (Owaofia), and (3) any dealings with Ebuka Uzoegwu (Agaba Nkpor) are invalid and carry no weight,” they stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To support their position, leaders from three sub-families endorsed the statement. Chief James Uzoegwu signed for the Paul sub-family, Chief Andrew Uzoegwu represented the Okoye sub-family, Rt. Hon. Alphonsus Uzoegwu endorsed it for the Moses sub-family, and Onyeka Uzoegwu spoke on behalf of the Richard sub-family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When reached for comment, Ebuka Chukwurah Uzoegwu defended his claims, alleging that his election took place on January 30, 2026, at Sir Nnamdi Uzoegwu’s residence (Etolue Nkpor).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Uzoegwu family election occurred at Sir Nnamdi Uzoegwu’s on January 30, 2026. The newly elected officials are: Chairman – Mr. Ebuka Chukwurah Uzoegwu, Vice Chairman – Mr. Obiorah Ndee Uzoegwu,  Secretary – Mr. Kosisochukwu Dennis Uzoegwu,  Assistant Secretary – Mr. Nnanna Onyenwugo Uzoegwu, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Secretary – Chief Jude Uzoegwu,  Treasurer – Mr. Uchenna Vincent Uzoegwu,  Provost – Mr. Onyebuchi Law Uzoegwu. Additionally, Mr. Izuchukwu Nwokoye Uzoegwu, Mr. Chinedu Nnamdi Uzoegwu, And Mr. Abuchi Julius Uzoegwu were designated as ex-official members,” he explained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
